The guys and gals over at EA Sports have been simulating the Super Bowl games a week ahead of time for a while now. They have a pretty solid record with 9 correct guesses and 3 incorrect (including last year’s where they predicted Denver would win by 3.) One thing they haven’t done before is guess the exact final score…until now. Madden’s prediction of the big game came true late Sunday night when the Seahawks threw quite possibly one of the worst interceptions in the history of the Super Bowl. If they had made it into the endzone, the game would have practically been theirs for the winning. Instead, they chose to pass on the 1 yard line and ignore their biggest threat all season, Beast Mode Lynch. Since these strange events took place, it resulted in Madden guessing the correct final score of Patriots 28, Seahawks 24. The simulation gets even crazier when you learn that the game also predicted the 3rd quarter game clinching touchdown pass from Brady to Edelman. Madden also successfully predicted Brady’s total touchdowns and was only 27 yards from getting his total passing yardage. Plus, he also was given the MVP nod in both the simulation and real life. That’s pretty good for a fun little side simulation EA Sports does each year. If you’re interested, the full video of the event is below.
