Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has reported that Capcom is bringing back the cult hit, last gen game Dragon’s Dogma as a free to play game for the PS3, PS4, and the PC. Video game site Gematsu has translated the magazine’s report on the new game and indicates that the game will include microtransactions and 4 player co-op. Just like in Dragon’s Dogma proper, you’ll play as an Awakened and “you’ll be able to adventure with four-player parties (if you prefer to play solo, you can take three AI pawns with you), as well as chat, form parties, and spend free time in town lobbies with up to 100 people.” There is also a reported quick join option that will allow you to quickly join with up to 3 other players to venture out into the world. AI pawns also return as a viable option for solo play in the game. The game is set to release in late 2015 in Japan. Right now, there isn’t a western release scheduled but reports indicate that “Dragon’s Dogma Online” has been trademarked in both the US and the UK, so there is a chance we will see this hit our shores sometime in the future. In the meantime, we can all wish for an HD release of Dragon’s Dogma…that probably won’t come.
